"Restore our Bays": Coastal restoration in the U.S.A.
The Audi Environmental Foundation recently launched the "Restore our Bays" initiative to support and promote coastal restoration in the United States of America. As part of this project, two non-profit organizations, Save The Bay and The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, are supported with financial support from the Audi Environmental Foundation and volunteer work by Audi of America employees.
The Audi Foundation for the Environment provided financial support for a study on the subject of rebuilding and protecting peatland, the "CO,-regio" feasibility study, which developed a catalog of measures designed to show farmers with land in peatland areas economically attractive, alternative uses.

Action against plastic waste in the sea and the Neckar River
Every year, around 10 million tonnes of plastic waste finds its way into our oceans. As a result, thousands upon thousands of marine animals perish. Together with Clear Rivers from Rotterdam, the Audi Environmental Foundation is committed to reducing plastic waste in waterways.
In recent years, there has been a dramatic depletion of bee populations. There are many reasons for this. The reasons include the increase in numbers of varroa mites in beehives, a lack of food supply or the increasing use of pesticides. In addition, there is a lack of young beekeepers, who can take on this problem.
The Audi Environmental Foundation supports a project of the Bee Research Center at the Bavarian State Institute for Viticulture and Horticulture in the promotion of beekeeping in schools. The project is aimed at schools that do not keep bees yet.
