PflanzMIT Initiative:

Planting Trees together for the Future of the Forest

In the first quarter of this year, over 100 employees from various departments of Audi and PSW planted tree saplings in several forest areas around Ingolstadt. The weather was perfect for this sometimes strenuous work, and the result is impressive: they planted over 3,000 trees for the future!

Among the tree species planted were Oriental Beech, Thuja, Black Alder, Douglas Fir, Silver Fir, and Yew. These trees are characterized by high drought and heat tolerance, making them ideal for the forest of the future in the face of climate change. The saplings now need to take root before they can make a significant contribution to climate protection thanks to their carbon storage capacity.

This initiative demonstrates Audi’s and PSW's commitment to environmental protection and sustainability. By planting these resilient tree species, not only is the forest around Ingolstadt strengthened, but a valuable contribution is also made to addressing climate change. The planted trees will grow and thrive in the coming years, binding carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and thus contributing to improved air quality.

We thank all participants for their efforts and support in this successful planting campaign, especially forest ranger Florian Schlagbauer!
