This year’s initiative took place in June in the Corumbá region of the Pantanal, the world’s largest inland wetland and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. A total of 158 families in the communities of Aldeia Uberaba, Barra do São Lourenço, Amolar, Aterro do Binega, Chané, Bonfim, Paraguai Mirim, and Ilha Verde received 178 solar lighting units, including 158 solar lamps and 20 solar-powered streetlights. "Over these five years of partnership with Audi, the project has grown stronger and increasingly attracted commitment from volunteers. Every year is special, and this year we were once again able to demonstrate the potential of local communities as guardians and key actors in creating a sustainable environment for future generations," emphasizes Rodrigo Eidy, President of Litro de Luz Brasil. To ensure strong community involvement, workshops were held in advance to train local ambassadors who are responsible for the maintenance and long-term operation of the solar lighting systems. "Participating in the project and experiencing the reaction of residents when they receive the lights is truly rewarding. The project opens up new opportunities for people. The Pantanal, with its rich biodiversity, remains largely untouched by human development, which makes mobile solutions like these all the more important," says Karine Fernandes, Head of People and Culture at Audi do Brasil. “The partnership with Litro de Luz reinforces our commitment to helping spread renewable energy and thereby foster sustainable social development. We have followed every stage of the initiative—from site selection to the final outcomes—and are deeply moved by the impact we are leaving in the region,” says Anton Poll, Managing Director of the Audi Environmental Foundation. Since the beginning of the Litro de Luz project, 2,985 people have benefited from access to solar lighting. During this time, 95 volunteers from Litro de Luz Brasil and 39 volunteers from Audi do Brasil have supported the initiative. 

In the fourth year of the partnership between Audi do Brasil, the NGO Litro de Luz and the Audi Environmental Foundation, 575 people benefited from the initiative to provide remote areas in the Amazon region with sustainable lighting solutions.
A total of 177 families in the municipalities of Santa Izabel (61 families), São Francisco de Aruaú (82 families) and Nova Esperança do Apuaú (34 families) received solar lights, including 177 street lights, one per family, and another 22 solar street lights.
In Nova Esperança de Apuaú, 34 street lamps and eight lampposts were installed, in Santa Izabel 61 street lamps and eight lampposts and in São Francisco de Aruaú 82 street lamps and six lampposts.
 
"Returning to the Amazon region, where our partnership with Audi began, was something very special. Once again, we were able to experience not only the vastness and natural beauty of the region, but also the transformative power of local communities – true protagonists of a sustainable future," says Rodrigo Eidy, President of Litro de Luz Brasil.
This time, again, workshops were held in advance in the communities with the aim of training the residents for the necessary maintenance and repair of the installed poles and lamps. In addition, an assembly workshop for compact energy solutions was held at the Audi dealer Alphaville in the São Paulo metropolitan area.
The well-known surfer Pedro Scooby, brand ambassador of Audi do Brazil, took part in the training. He supports the social action that is part of Audi do Brasil's ESG pillar. The workshop was intended to prepare the volunteers and the Audi do Brasil team working in the region to transfer the knowledge to the local population.
This year, the campaign aims to raise awareness for the Amazon region at an important time for the ESG agenda in Brazil – the event will take place in Belém do Pará, a region in the Amazon that hosts the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 30).

In 2024, villages without permanent access to electricity were again supplied with energy-sustainable lighting solutions. The selected project region was the Lower Xingu Indigenous Reserve in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso. From 29 May to 5 June, a total of 20 indigenous communities, 140 families and over 600 residents were equipped with 170 compact lighting and energy solutions, including lamps and solar poles."This is the third year of our partnership with Audi do Brasil and the Audi Environmental Foundation, and it certainly is the most challenging. Supplying these 20 communities with solar solutions and getting to know the lives of the indigenous people in the Xingu Reserve in depth is undoubtedly one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. The project not only brings light to indigenous people, but also shows appreciation for them as the true guardians of the forest," says Rodrigo Eidy, Director of Litro de Luz Brasil.The project areas were identified using the Litro de Luz database, which lists villages with no or limited access to the regular electricity grid. Together with local leaders, the communities within the Xingu Indigenous Territory were selected, because in these isolated communities the action has a greater impact.In addition to providing people with sustainable lighting solutions, another goal is to support and value the traditional indigenous culture of the Xingu, which live in one of Brazil's most important environmental conservation areas. They contribute to the preservation of biodiversity, mitigate climate change and provide a reference for the cultures and traditions of the indigenous peoples living there.

In 2023, the action continued in local indigenous and Caiçara communities on the south coast of the state of São Paulo. Together with locals, 40 volunteers from Audi do Brasil and the NGO Litro de Luz installed 140 lighting systems, including solar lamps and masts with lithium batteries. About 147 families in twelve different communities in the small towns of Cananeia and Ilha do Cardoso benefited from the campaign.

The partnership between Audi do Brasil, Litro de Luz and the Audi Environmental Foundation started in 2022 with an initiative for 200 communities in the Amazon region. 30 solar masts and over 150 solar lamps were installed there. The campaign benefited a total of over 600 people in the communities of Nova Canaã, Nova Jerusalém and Lindo Amanhecer.
