The Audi Environmental Foundation is further developing its activities in the field of forest ecosystems by combining the International Oak Forest Project and Talking Trees within a joint research initiative.

As part of the project, digital sensor systems are used to collect and provide data on tree and environmental parameters almost in real time. These include information on climatic influences and selected physiological responses of trees.

The collected data are made publicly accessible and visualized via talkingtrees.de. In addition, measurement data from a research site in Italy can be explored and evaluated interactively through talkingtrees.projects.unibz.it.

The data support scientific analyses of the interactions between environmental factors and tree responses, as well as adaptation mechanisms in forest ecosystems.

The aim of the project is to investigate forest ecosystems using continuous measurement data and to provide scientific information on the effects of environmental changes on trees and forests.
